The Party's 'Not Ideology'

Part 1

The Party's 'Not Ideology'

Part 2

Unlike other parties, one of the main founding beliefs of Nexus is that politics should not be driven by staunch ideology (centre-left, centrist, centre-right) as ideologies provide barriers for innovation, rather a party should be able to float across political boundaries to manifest itself to solve a variety of problems. For example, the current situation of the state calls for a pragmatist centre-left to centrist approach, one area where this is necessary is public sector spending as due to the severe austerity spending cuts to public services, GDP growth has decreased due to GDP being a combination of multiple factors such as public spending and private investment among others, one landmark policy of the Nexus Manifesto to address this issue is the £25BN Green Overhaul Commitment which aims to boost public spending into energy security. Another area is that of the water industry: water is classed as a common pool resource meaning that it is essential for human activity and therefore must be readily available, reasonably priced and under secure control which can be guaranteed through state intervention, one such Nexus policy to achieve this is the Water Regulation Act, please access the manifesto for more information on policies.

Privatisation of such industries such as water essentially eradicates this standard and replaces it with a monopoly. The manifesto accurately depicts solutions and dogma stated in part 1 and aims to constantly evolve to match the situation of the UK, eradicating the extreme poles (far-left and far-right) whilst combining policy from all areas of the political spectrum. One area where we accomplish this is by endorsing the private sector and supporting business whilst maintaining efficient public sector apparatus in policies such as the Business Development Grant Rollout policy which reflects a centrist-centre-right policy to bolster the private sector reflecting the flexible, innovative and well-rounded nature of Nexus.
